Birthday Questions!

In the past, I felt that people never got the chance to know me better, since I was either quiet and/or closed to the world. Well, not anymore! To celebrate my 19th birthday in 2 weeks, I'm coming out of my shell and taking on your questions! Ask me any question about me from now until November 21st, and I'll TRY to answer them all! To submit your questions, you can message me on Facebook, on my Formspring page (no anonymity, please), or comment on this blog post below. On my birthday, the questions will be answered on a Note on Facebook.

This is the total amount of exposure for each of the mediums for the week of June 25th-July 1st:

Media/ Time
TV/ 15 hours, 31 minutes
Radio/ 11 hours, 8 minutes
Computer/ 19 hours, 38 minutes
Cell Phone/ 2 hours, 3 minutes
Film/ 1 hour, 49 minutes

The media I was exposed to the most was the Computer, with the Television coming in 2nd, the Radio in 3rd, the Cell Phone in 4th, and the Film in 5th. Like what I said in the last log, the total amount of media exposure I received was 49 hours and 3 minutes.

Thursday, July 1, 2010

Media/ Time
Radio/ 1 hour, 45 minutes
Computer/ 2 hours, 5 minutes
Cell Phone/ 14 minutes

My media exposure today jumped back up to 4 hours and 4 minutes, five minutes more than Monday’s amount. Today’s CCM Orientation is to blame as well as my E-Media classes and “Les Mis” rehearsal. After reviewing the information from this past week, the total amount of media exposure I’ve received is 49 hours and 3 minutes.

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

Media/ Time
Radio/ 2 hours, 20 minutes
Computer/ 7 minutes
Cell Phone/ 13 minutes

My non-stop schedule with school and “Les Miserables” has resulted in the removal of television from the list of mediums above. Since I didn’t watch any television at all today, my amount of media exposure today has continued to fall: 2 hours and 40 minutes.

Media/ Time
TV/ 1 minute
Radio/ 1 hour, 40 minutes
Computer/ 45 minutes
Cell Phone/ 8 minutes

Ever since I began this assignment, I have seen the hours and minutes in all four mediums drop to surprising lows. I’ve hardly had any time at all to watch television and call/text anyone on my cell phone primarily because of the limited free-time I currently have. The amount of media that I’ve been exposed to today is a very-low 2 hours and 34 minutes.

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Media/ Time
TV/ 30 minutes
Radio/ 1 hour, 45 minutes
Computer/ 1 hour, 5 minutes
Cell Phone/ 39 minutes

Just as my mother and I predicted, weekdays seem to bring all of the numbers down drastically. With summer classes during the day and rehearsal for Cincinnati Christian Community Theatre’s production of “Les Miserables” during the night, I have little to no time to fool around on these mediums. It may be a good sign. The amount of media exposure today was 3 hours and 59 minutes.

Sunday, June 27th, 2010

Media/ Time
TV/ 6 hours
Radio/ 1 hour, 50 minutes
Computer/ 20 minutes
Cell Phone/ 20 minutes
Film/ 1 hour, 49 minutes

I was pretty impressed that the time I had on the computer dropped today. I also noticed that there’s a pattern with my exposure with the television that it increases 1 hour each day. Tonight, my brother and I went out to see the movie “Toy Story 3”, the second time I've seen it, his first. We really enjoyed it! The film has brought up my amount of media exposure today to 10 hours and 19 minutes.

Media/Time
TV/ 5 hours
Radio/ 45 minutes
Computer/ 5 hours, 30 minutes
Cell Phone/ 2 minutes

The amount of time I’ve been exposed to the computer dropped from yesterday’s amount by 4 hours or so. It is probably because I’m getting back into the cycle of education that I left about 4 weeks ago. However, the amount to time I’ve had with these technologies is still pretty high: 11 hours and 17 minutes.

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Media/ Time
TV/ 4 hours
Radio/ 1 hour
Computer /9 hours, 7 minutes
Cell Phone/ 2 minutes

After viewing the information listed above, I was pretty shocked to discover the amount of media I was exposing myself to: 14 hours and 9 minutes total. The statistics we reviewed in class about media exposure with young people ages 8-18 seem to back this up. Today, I learned something about myself, and I may want to change it a bit.
